The area of the TriCity will likely surprise you with the richness of natural attractions, including such picturesque sights as the estuary of the Brave Vistula and the Vistula Cutting with the bird reserves as well as the diversified areas of the TriCity Landscape Park. The local nature is an excellent supplement to sightseeing the historic part of Gdańsk – it gives a chance to run away from the noises and chaos of the city. Sobieszewo Island – Bird’s Paradise Reserve

A visit to the Birds’ Paradise is an excellent opportunity to have a lesson of geography and nature. The walk along the stone dike that separates the waters of the Brave Vistula from the Birds’ Paradise will give you unforgettable experiences. During the trip, you can see the representatives of many species of birds. Another attraction of the trip includes the hidden beauty spots, which provide an insight into the live of the bird population.

Estuary of the Vistula Cutting – ‘Gulls’ Backwater’ Reserve

The reserve is located in the area of the picturesque estuary of the Vistula Cutting into the Bay of Gdańsk. You will be amazed during the ferry crossing in Mikoszewo, where most of the reserve is located. The visit to this place is an excellent lesson of nature and geography.

Tri-City Landscape Park Forests

The route combines historic and natural attractions. We start at the post-Cistercian church (Oliwa Cathedral) that takes you to the times of the spiritual prime of this order. If you enter the Pachołek Hill (101 m a.s.l), you will experience the breathtaking view of the surrounding Oliwa and the sea. Another attraction is a walk along the Valley of Joy – where you can see the historic Water Mill, the Oliwa Manor and the picturesque villas from the 19th century. The next interesting stage is the ‘Hussar Gorge’ with its interesting shapes. The route ends in Matemblewo – the Sanctuary of the Pregnant Heavenly Mother that is becoming more and more important in the religious life of Gdańsk.

Tri-City Landscape Park Forests’

This picturesque route commences at the Forest Opera in Sopot, famous for the pop music contents. The route takes you along the Gdańsk Hills, where you can admire amazing views and numerous natural attractions, for example the Bare Hill – in the winter time a paradise for skiers and at other times a great beauty spot of the TriCity. The Świemirowska Valley is another sight of interest due to the Esperanto Oak, together with the Pachołek Hill – with its view tower. The route ends at the historic Oliwa Cathedral.

Sobieszewo – Świbno – Sobieszewska Island

Sobieszewska Island is a forgotten part of Gdańsk, but its nature has a lot to offer. You can see it yourself when tracking from Sobieszewo to Świbno. The route will take you along the beautiful coastal forest, with many opportunities to enter the empty, almost wild beaches. Along the way, you can see some interesting historic attractions – the oldest graves in Gdańsk, a villa of Gdańsk’s gauleiter – Albert Forester, and finally the stone that commemorates the one hundredth’s anniversary of constructing the Vistula Cutting.
